My Foundation
Elizabeth Buelna Gomez
Like a foundation he stands strong
through the storm, he holds the tower
and though life has taken most of his power
he is wise and knows how to stand firm in air going 260 miles per hour
He is the lion of the pride that leads me to water
he’s like a tree and with every leaf that falls he forgets my faults
and every leaf that sprouts is a chance to endeavour
I've been taught that to be as resilient as him takes time
and acceptance that you'll be thrown around until you hit the ground
beat till you're on your knees and then back upright because I know that's life
